God gives us Spirit-led opportunities to die to our idols, our “treasures,” and keep Him first in our hearts and actions. Matthew 6:21 says it well, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” If we are treasuring our finances, food, homes, clothing, and resources more than the hurting people around us, our treasure is in temporary things and not eternity. When we are sensitive to the needs of others and show compassion, we reveal our hearts. When we say our lives are about Jesus and His kingdom, we are then invited to model and live out this belief in the way that we view generosity. It is a ministry to others when we walk with surrendered postures towards money and worldly possessions. God instructs us to be openhanded, not tight-fisted with our resources ( Deuteronomy 15:7-8). Are we thinking about the poor? Are we thinking about that single mom, that homeless ministry, or that struggling elderly person? Are we aware of the needs of those around us, or are we just living in our “own worlds” ( Leviticus 25:35-36). When is the last time that you had extras? Maybe there is someone who could benefit from the help of food or supplies? We are called to live like Jesus. Where it would have been tempting to hoard and to take excess, this was intended for those who were in need as a blessing and provision from God. The Lord encouraged an attitude of sharing and giving. Ruth would be in the line of Jesus’ genealogy. This even was the Lord’s way of taking care of Ruth and Naomi in Ruth 2. (Until Jan =D) I hope you get some major money out of EL2.These laws made provisions for those who could not afford to eat or who were foreigners. Couldn't even get enough money for some basic equipment.Īwesome! You made a MMORPG by yourself.
I got sick of collecting flowers basically. The rest are not hard to find, but you have to explore a little.Īdmittedly I didn't play that much, but it was a few months ago. The quests are not supposed to be easy to find, except for the tutorial quests. Quote: Original post by when did you play it last time? The game is updated pretty often, and don't forget it's still in Beta. Then I will focus almost exclusively on the enw project (more details about it soon, after I finish the design document). until they figure out all the server code. I am still more or less in control of the game, and I'll help the rest of the devs with advices, etc. Now I am working at my new project, took a few client developers with me, while the 2 developers who joined from January+ my wife (art)+ the head map maker are still working at it. After that I was the only server programmer, others took over the client. I was the only programmer until January 2004. The rest are not hard to find, but you have to explore a little. So now that two people work at server istead of one might mean faster thanks when did you play it last time? The game is updated pretty often, and don't forget it's still in Beta. Not only that it did well, but it still does well, the number of players online didn't decrease since I 'left', and the game might progress even faster without me, since was an evil nazi and didn't want to let anyone modify the server as long as I was in charge. Hope the community is more agreeable this time around Radu.īTW, will you include what EL did well in the port-mortem? I'm sure that bears repeating as well. Rad was the only programmer on the thing right? If that's the case, if we were in a room, I would be giving a standing ovation. I'd say Raduprv did a great job on it, just whoever designed it needed to rethink it a bit. I also liked how when it was dark, it was dark! None of this pansy mostly blue crap. The server didn't seem to lag much, and there were few loading times. Since we're all game developers, we can appreciate that. However, technically it was a great achievement.
(I played for about 3 days and found none.) Basically it suffered from lack of fun because of these. Harvesting was the easiest, fastest way, and quite frankly I found it mind-numbingly dull. Anyhoo, I think you're quite an inspiration, and I wish you luck with whatever you work on next. Only reason I stopped was because I didn't really want to have a MMORPG addiction. I only played it for a few days, but I was totally addicted for those few days. I'd just like to say that I think you did a kick ass job with Eternal Lands.
